The Pretty Blerd Guardian!

I already had this post done before but, wouldn’t you know it, writing on your phone in the middle of a forest located at Nowhere Land wasn’t the best way. Power went out and then everyone heard a wail coming from inside the tent because I KNEW, somewhere deep in my heart, that this was karma for not feeding that fat little raccoon that crossed my tent earlier that morning. I know it. I feel it deep in my bones.

But enough about my tragedy! Let’s spill the tea by starting off with a strong cup and addressing the biggest elephant in the room: Tears of Themis.

I won’t lie, every bit of me was pretty depressed. After the MLQC fiasco and cutting ties with that game entirely, seeing this from my new favorite josei felt disheartening. I loved everyone’s voices, especially Artem’s as he’s voiced by the dreamy and cozy Junichi Suwabe, to the point where I have a little collection of videos recording his voice getting flustered or when he’s complimenting Rosa. And sure, it’s still somewhat of a relief that we’ll still get the card, interactive, and voice calls from our guys – it rings a little hollow as we’ll have to enjoy our main stories and events in silence. Just when the Halloween event was coming up too!

Despite wanting to post about it right away, my camping vacation just started and part of me just wanted to let the dust settle to see if there were any changes over the past few days. Fellow fans weren’t going to be pleased by the news and were undoubtedly e-mailing customer service but unfortunately, our patience didn’t pay off as we were given confirmation that this was a permanent decision.

Making us cry in the club and paying us 15 Tears for it? Pffbt! Receiving just 15 tears (currency for drawing cards) for this doesn’t really feel… that justified either. Don’t get me wrong, your girl LOVES gifts especially when they’re free but permanently removing popular, well-loved seiyuus from our game doesn’t feel like proper compensation. It’d promise you one 10 card draws on the chance of receiving an SR or SSR whereas Obey Me, when they had a technical issue with an event focused on Levi, gave us a free high-ranking card without any obligations. So, call me spoiled but this gesture felt a little stinky.

Now as for their reasons for this decision, I’m under the impression it was because of COVID but also due to money issues but keep in mind this is all speculation and opinion! Regardless of what I think, it is what it is.

The seiyuus portraying them right now are very popular and I’m guessing that while they may have the time, depending on how busy they’ve gotten, their contracts may have requested more compensation than usual because of this and miHoYo decided it was too expensive. This is the part where I get skeptical because Genshin Impact and their other titles rake in quite a lot of dough, but we have to remember that Suwabe fell ill a few times, cutting him out of events. Having a balanced favor for each character is important and I believe, with them assuming there would be complaints for Artem not giving the same voiced content as the others, they felt having none of the guys’ voiced was better than having 3/4 fulfilled.

With all that said though, this won’t affect my interest in the game. I’ll miss them terribly and the news sucks because their voices brought me comfort but thankfully there are other languages to enjoy and the game so far is still meeting my standards in every other way, let’s just hope that any future changes are more uplifting ones!

UNTOLD ATLAS DEMO STREAM

In more exciting news, Untold Atlas has been officially funded! We’re still 7 days away from the end date so I’ve plans to play the demo sometime before that happens and also host a little activity for everyone! The inspiration came from other games or events calling for fanart/creative contests, where you’ll cosplay and/or draw fanart of your character. They were always fun to watch but at the same time, I didn’t have any artistic bone in my body and cosplaying in this economy? Forget about it. But I’d like to change that with a few ideas, but I’ll need to run it by Nochi Studios first before I do anything so hopefully by this weekend, you’ll hear the good news after my Untold Atlas demo stream! excited noises!

STREAMING & OTHER STUFF

It isn’t super advertised but over the last few weeks, I’ve been dipping my toes into the streaming world. It’s a lot of fun trying out new games and documenting my D&D adventures with friends so I’ll be consistent with it but not enough to encompass my entire account. Maybe this is my introverted hermit nature talking but writing feels more expressive to me, I still plan to post often! But VTubing? A definite thing in the works. I’ve already made my ‘persona’ and it’s super cool – I can’t wait to show you guys!

As far as writing, there are so many ideas I want to get started with, but October is so short! Remember when you were a kid and had to count the days before Halloween? Now I just blink and we’re already halfway finished! Ughh. Of course, this happens on my favorite month but that’s okay, spooky season lasts (honestly forever) for me until Thanksgiving so let’s consider everything after October our ‘chill fall vibes’. Hopefully you’ll guys like it when it’s finished! With that said, Sailor Otome will be going to school in January! It’s only a part-time thing but we’ll see how it shakes up my schedule because my desire to become a librarian is still going strong.

I know it sounds like a lot on my plate, but I’ll be alright! Rather stay busy to fend off the seasonal woes instead of laying about over-eating and staying depressed. Do any of you guys have any remedies for the holiday blues? I’d love to know!
